The interesting thing here is that you will taste the islands typical cuisine, but can also try that of the Basque Region, Asturias, Andalusia, Catalonia and Galicia. Therefore one cannot avoid, amongst other pleasures, the joys of an entire range of seafood and both fried and grilled fish.
The cheeses from the neighbouring island Minorca are a real treat, there are also all types of delicatessen to be tasted and lets not forget the famous iberian ham (jamon serrano).
Luckily in Mallorca, moreso than in other parts of Spain, you will still get some succulent olives (which may vary in taste in different places) when you order a pre-meal drink, and possibly some tapas.
Neither should you miss out on some of the island of Mallorcas wines of guaranteed vintage, that when compared are not far behind the French wines in quality. |
