As in most of the islands, the wind is a significant element that affects the temperature and the climate. The mountain-chain (Tramuntana) which crosses the island of Majorca from south-west to north-east, over one hundred kilometres, protects the central plains (which cover a large percentage of the island) from the wind as shown in the chart.
The temperatures start to climb as early as April and the weather in Majorca is very good until October.
In summer, the climate in Majorca is hot and dry with an average of 25 degrees, and in winter the temperatures remain relatively pleasant (average of 12 to 13 degrees).
The aren't many stormy showers on the island, and in general it mainly rains in spring and autumn.
Majorca's annual average temperature is of approximately 17 degrees Celsius . |
